Local Businesses and Organizations Helping the Breast Cancer Hotline

People can support the Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program by shopping, attending a fashion show, riding a horse, eating and laughing out loud at events held this fall.

September 24—A Night of Comedy at Governors Comedy Club in Levittown from 8 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are $20 with a two drink minimum. To order tickets, on line: breast-cancer.adelphi.edu or contact Michelle Lamberson at 516-877-4320.

September 25 to October 31—Brighton Jewelry launches its Power of Pink campaign at their Roosevelt Field and Walt Whitman Mall stores from 10 am to 9:30 pm.  The stores are offering three special bracelets; $10 goes to the breast cancer program.

October 3—Lord & Taylor’s Charity Day “Let’s Do Something Good Together” in Garden City from 9 am to 9:30 pm. Purchase admission tickets for $5 and receive discount coupons. To order tickets, contact Michelle Lamberson at 516-877-4320 or email her at: mlamberson@adelphi.edu.

October 5 through 11–Miceli Brothers pizzeria and restaurant in West Babylon is hosting fund raising dinners from 4:30 pm to 10 pm every evening with a fixe dinner of soup, salad, entrée–choice of chicken, veal, shrimp, fish, or vegetarian—dessert and coffee or tea for $25; for each meal, the restaurant will donate $5. October 10—7th Annual Breast Cancer Benefit Ride/Hike with The NY Natural Equestrians at Connetquot River State Park Preserve in Oakdale from 10 am to 2 pm. Bring your horse or walk the trail. October 1 to 31—Fortunoff Fine Jewelers has a collection of pink items that includes pieces in rose gold and natural pink freshwater pearls. Twenty percent of proceeds will be donated to the Adelphi program and a national breast cancer organization. Fortunoff is located at 1504 Old Country Road, Westbury.

October – Sir John’s Haircutters in West Babylon is raffling a basket of hair products, valued at $150. Tickets are $5. The salon is located at 957 Little Neck Road, West Babylon; 631-321-7250.

All proceeds support the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year. The program provides information and emotional support to New Yorkers coping with breast cancer.
