Adelphi’s Peer Educators Lead a Monthlong Breast Cancer Awareness and Fundraising Campaign

The student members of Adelphi’s Health and Wellness Peer Education Program are holding a monthlong breast cancer awareness initiative. Many of the programs benefit the 33-year-old Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program.

You can help out by purchasing a pink panther paw for $1.00 to sign and hang in your office, your residence hall room and your home as a sign of a loved one that was affected by breast cancer. All proceeds support the hotline. Sale dates are listed below.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Peer Educators are hosting a workshop entitled Big or Small, Support Them All from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom of the Ruth S. Harley University Center. Join them for what promises to be an evening of interactive learning.

The entire initiative kicked off on October 1, 2013, with the raising of a breast cancer flag to join the American flag on the main flagpole. Subsequent events included a campus-wide Chalk Up!– which colored the campus walkways pink—and a Paint the Campus Pink event, in which pink ribbons were draped throughout Adelphi.

There are currently no entries posted for this department. Please check back later for new listings.
