Celebrate Survivorship with the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program


Join the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program’s Celebration of Survivorship on October 17, 2013, in the Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom in the Ruth S. Harley University Center. Celebration of Survivorship is the program’s largest annual event.

Artist, activist, author and Pulitzer Prize-nominated photographer Matuschka will be among six speakers at the event. The other speakers are: LaKesha Jackson, the co-founder of the nonprofit Pink S.H.O.E.S. (Strength, Hope, Optimism, Endurance, Survival); Robin Healy, an Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program volunteer; Millie Jones, East Meadow Chamber of Commerce chair; and Fran and Joe Mercolino who have been married for 60 years and were both diagnosed with breast cancer. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Irene Virag will moderate the discussion.

A light supper will be served. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and speeches begin at 7:00 p.m.
