I am one of the outreach coordinators for the Sisters United in Health/Hermanas Unidas en la Salud initiative. Since 2010 I have worked alongside the supportive staff at the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program.

As a professional health educator with a MA in Community Health Promotion from Adelphi University, I provide educational workshops and one-on-one education to dispel breast cancer myths and encourage women to become proactive about their breast health. While providing outreach, I am conscious that all information and materials shared are culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate and addresses the needs of the population.

It is truly rewarding to reach thousands of women each year through this initiative; I am thankful each day for the work that we do!
