A Staged Reading of A Christmas Carol

Written by Charles Dickens
Direction by Brian Rose
Dramatized by Barbara Field

In 1843, Charles Dickens’ novella A Christmas Carol was published, and the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge has touched the hearts of readers and audiences ever since. Every holiday season, Adelphi University’s Department of Theatre brings the Victorian classic to the stage as it would have been performed in a radio studio in the 1930s, as a dramatic reading. The production is directed by Professor Brian Rose, and roles are performed by faculty and student actors.

There’s no charge, but, if you can, please bring a can or box of non-perishable food as a donation to the holiday spirit, for the Mary Brennan Inn food kitchen in Hempstead.
