Giving Tuesday 2022

As the holiday season of generosity approaches, I ask that you support the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. While Breast Cancer Awareness Month is recognized in October, our staff and volunteers provide education, mammography referrals, licensed counseling, and peer support year-round. Your charitable contribution transforms the lives of women and men in the breast cancer community.

Gifts from supporters like you allow the program to provide our toll-free hotline, educational forums, individual counseling and support groups, and our Celebration of Survivorship. Join us for #GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity on November 29, 2022, an opportunity for people to come together to thank, volunteer, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. With your gift on #GivingTuesday, we can continue to provide education, support and hope for the breast cancer community.

Your contributions have eased the journey for so many breast cancer patients. One of our support group members, Carmen, shared her testimony, “We are very grateful for the help that this organization gives us and the social workers are part of our life, in the long run, with their unconditional help. God Bless everyone who takes part in this organization.” (Translated from Spanish).

While we are housed at Adelphi University, our program brings in all of our own funding (in grants from New York State, private and family foundations, and donations) and all of our services are completely free and confidential. The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily impacted New York State funding to non-profit organizations, adding another financial challenge. This is why we need your support.

This #GivingTuesday, provide your gift securely online at click hereMake a tax-deductible donation today, so that we may be there for our fellow New Yorkers. From the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program family to yours we wish you a happy holiday and a healthy new year.

With heartfelt thanks,

Reyna Machado, MA, MBA
Executive Director

P.S. Adelphi University is a qualified 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
