Adelphi Insider Wins CASE Circle of Excellence Award, Gold

In 2018, the Office of University Communications and Marketing relaunched Adelphi Insider as two weekly newsletters—Insider Events and Insider News. The Adelphi community has supported this effort, sending events to promote and sharing news, announcements, stories and photos about students, faculty, staff and alumni.

In June 2019, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) recognized the Insider with a Circle of Excellence Award, Gold, for internal communication.

Other Gold winners for internal communication include Duke University, Temple University, Boston University and University of California, Davis, “so we are in good company,” said Joanna Templeton, associate vice president for brand strategy and University communications.

CASE is the global association for professionals in advancement—alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and advancement services—who share the goal of championing education to transform lives and society. Introduced in 1994, Circle of Excellence Awards is CASE’s largest and most popular awards program.

According to CASE, in 2019, the organization received 2,856 entries for consideration in 100 categories by 611 member higher education institutions, independent schools and nonprofits from 20 countries. Winners are selected based on a number of factors, including overall quality, innovation, use of resources and the impact on the institution or its external and internal communities, such as alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff.

“These awards demonstrate our members’ success in advancing their institutions through their remarkable work,” said Sue Cunningham, president and CEO of CASE. “This year’s award winners demonstrate creativity and strategy; I urge everyone to take a look—you will be inspired.”
