On Sunday, November 6, 2016, the Adelphi University men’s soccer team captured its first Northeast-10 Conference Championship title with a 2-1 victory against Le Moyne on Motamed Field.
Following the match, Joseph Sanchez was named the Most Valuable Player of the Championship. Joining him on the All-Championship Team were teammates Emil Thomsen and James Thristino.
“I am so proud of the boys and my coaching staff for all the work they have put in to this point,” said Head Coach Carlo Acquista. “The NE-10 is arguably one of the toughest conferences in the country.” Acquista added, “this has been one of our major goals from the start of the season. We will enjoy it for the day and quickly move on and prepare for the NCAA Tournament.”

In Cross Country, Adelphi’s Men Finished 7th and Women 11th at the November 5 NCAA East Region Championshipshosted at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds by Franklin Pierce.
The Adelphi University Women’s Tennis team got singles victories from Rebecca Fakas and Karen Serina to clinch its second straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship title, 5-4, over top-seeded Stonehill College on October 23.
