Adelphi Nursing Professor Elected Fellow of New York Academy of Medicine
Jane H. White, Ph.D., is an expert in psychiatric-mental health nursing who has made a profound impact on Adelphi’s nursing program since arriving on campus in 2005. As Vera E. Bender Professor of Nursing, she helped develop the University’s Ph.D. in Nursing program, created the new Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, and has mentored countless students and faculty members.
At the same time, Dr. White has made her mark on the profession as the first executive director of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and as the author of more than 50 publications.
Inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in 2015, she has now been elected by her peers in the medical and health professions as a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr. White will be inducted this fall, and will continue her research on clinical and population health issues facing individuals and communities in New York City as well as cities worldwide.
