Violinist Andy Bhasin’s solo and chamber music performances have taken him around the United States, Europe, Central and South America. As a chamber musician, Bhasin has collaborated with Wolfram Koessel, Rita Porfiris, as well as members of the Emerson and Chiara String Quartets.  He has been coached by the Boromeo, Brentano, St. Lawrence, Miami, Pacifica, and Takacs String Quartets. He has performed in the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra, the New World Symphony, and played under the baton of Carl St. Clair, David Robertson and John Williams.  He has been a featured performer at numerous festivals including Music Academy of the West, the Festival Eleazar de Carvalho in Fortaleza, Brazil and II Festival Internacional de Música Erudita de Piracicaba in Piracicaba, Brazil.  Bhasin has performed in prestigious venues such as the Gasteig in Munich, Germany, Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Music Center in New York City, and debuted Carnegie Hall as a prizewinner of the American Protege International Concerto Competition.  His playing was recently featured in Daniel Nearing’s 2014 feature film, Hogtown.

Bhasin received musical training under Roland and Almita Vamos at Northwestern University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from New York University and a Master’s degree at the Hartt School as a student of Anton Miller, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2015 under Soovin Kim and Philip Setzer while studying conducting under Timothy Long at Stony Brook University.
