The life-affirming Warriors Book Club meeting on October 23
Author Elizabeth Castellano in person
Long Island author Elizabeth Castellano will discuss her debut novel “Save What’s Left,” in person on Monday, October 23, from 3:30 pm to 5 pm at Adelphi University’s University Center, in Garden City. The Warriors Book Club, a monthly gathering of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program, is free and open to anyone affected by breast cancer.
“Save What’s Left” is set in a small beach town. Elizabeth wrote the novel during the pandemic, while, she says, “I sat by the window at my beach house, staring at the waves and surrounded by my inspiration.”
People magazine has named “Save What’s Left” a best book of the summer: “When her marriage goes bust, Kathleen heads for Long Island, where the challenges of owning a beach house—okay, a converted oyster shack—fuel a series of unfortunate, yet absolutely hilarious, events.” Newsday calls the book “a hilarious sendup of beach town politics.”
