Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program Hosts Virtual Forum with Dr. Douglas Marks, Medical Oncologist from NYU Langone Perlmutter Cancer Center

On Monday, February 24, 2025, at 5:30 PM, Adelphi’s Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program will host a virtual forum with Dr. Douglas Marks, Medical Oncologist from NYU Langone Perlmutter Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In this one-hour session held over Zoom, attendees will learn how to cope with the side effects of breast cancer treatment and how patients can work with their medical team during their treatment journey to gain comprehensive support. Attendees will learn how to advocate for their care in a medical setting and will have the opportunity to engage in a question and answer session at the end of the forum.

Dr. Marks is a leader in treating advanced and metastatic breast cancer and provides his patients with the most up-to-date and innovative oncologic care. He aims to provide patients with the education needed to be an expert in their own disease and works collaboratively with each patient to ensure the best possible treatment plan for their needs. “As a medical oncologist, it is my responsibility and privilege to care for patients during the most difficult periods in their lives,” Dr. Marks said.

His research has been presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium—an international symposium focused on the treatment of breast cancer—in addition to presentations at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society for Immunology of Cancer, and at the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group–American College of Radiology Imaging Network Cancer Research Group meeting, as well as published in peer-reviewed journals.

Angela Papalia, LMSW, Assistant Director of the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program, will moderate the forum. The Zoom link will be provided to all registered participants. To register for this free event, please call 516.877.4325.
