Hudson Valley M.S.W. Students Fight Sexual and Domestic Abuse Step by Step

Graduate students at Adelphi University’s School of Social Work Hudson Valley Center are leading the fight against sexual and domestic abuse one step at a time.

Every year the Adelphi University Graduate Student Association (GSA) votes on a local charity to support, and this year CASADA (Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse) won. Past winners included Astor Headstart, Family Services Emergency Food Pantry and Grace Smith House.

On May 1, 2016, social work graduate students at Adelphi’s Hudson Valley Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, banded together to cross the Walkway Over the Hudson to raise awareness of CASADA—a diverse group of individuals and organizations committed to stopping domestic and sexual violence in Dutchess County.
