Kyle McGee is a licensed master social worker with over 25 years of experience in the field as mental health clinician, supervisor, educator and trainer.

He is currently a ParentCorps Educator in the Population Health division of the NYU Langone Medical Center, which targets the social and emotional health development for preschool-age children.

McGee is working toward a Ph.D. in the philosophy of Social Work at Adelphi University and his doctoral dissertation is focused on the lived experience of black and Latino fathers as partners in parenting.

He has served as an adjunct faculty at both Adelphi University and the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College teaching advanced group work practice as well as foundation courses to master’s-level students. His practice experience has focused primarily on individual and group mental health treatment for children, young adults and homeless adults living with serious mental illness.

He has particular interest and research experience with providing effective group therapy through the use of activity, and has developed curriculum to incorporate music and drumming into practice with trauma and substance use recovery.

He is currently an Executive Board Member of the International Association for Social Work with Groups and has published multiple articles related to the practice of social work with groups.
