Meet Graduates from Our 2019 Commencement

Kayla Pollock

Kayla Pollock combined a computer science major and a criminal justice minor to chart her own course for a career in cybersecurity. She was a high jumper on the track and field team, winning All-Region honors twice. She co-founded the student Association for Computing Machinery and worked as a teaching assistant and on the Information Technology Help Desk. She did it all and got her degree in three years. With persistence and the right professors, Kayla proved the advantage of making your own possibilities.

Ernesto Marcano Jr.

As a first-generation college student, Ernesto Marcano Jr. made the most of opportunities at Adelphi and now sees many more opportunities before him. During clinicals, he trained in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and ER but truly enjoyed working in pediatrics. “I think this is what I was meant to do.”

Antonette White

Antonette White thought she knew what she wanted to study when she first came to Adelphi. A look through the course listings changed her mind—and set her on a path to leadership on campus and in the community.

Anmol Kumar, MBA ‘19

Anmol Kumar, MBA ‘19 was working in marketing in Mumbai, India, and knew what he wanted to advance his career. He found it on the other side of the globe at Adelphi. He threw himself into his classes and now he has a new job, in the New York area.

Nicole Zisa

Nicole Zisa brought a lot of ambition to Adelphi. She found outlets for all of her energy, spreading awareness and organizing direct support for abused women and developing the organization and public speaking skills and confidence that put her on the path for a promising career in advocacy and counseling. No wonder she was named Adelphi’s first Prestigious Panther!
