Open Access and Scholarly Communication

Open Access Banner

Check out our newest resource on open access and scholarly communication.

We are pleased to announced the publication of a special guide to Open Access and Scholarly Communication by University Libraries Professor Debbi Smith. Adelphi University subsidizes open access publishing through the Office of the Provost. This guide provides information on author rights and vetting publishers and journals, with additional open access resources and definitions. We are also in the demonstration phase of our campus institutional repository, Adelphi Digital Commons, our showcase for faculty works and other publications. The full release is scheduled for February. All the more timely is the availability of this local resource as privatized platforms like Academic.edu monetize scholarly writing and act in their own proprietary interests with our intellectual product. Adelphi Digital Commons should be our go-to resource for open and transparent access to research by our community and those connected around the world.
