The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program invites you to its next Warriors Book Club gathering on Monday, June 30 at 7 PM (via Zoom). This free virtual event is open to anyone impacted by breast cancer—patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones—seeking community, comfort, and conversation.
This month’s pick is The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg—an entertaining summer read full of quirky characters, unexpected twists, and heartwarming discoveries. Set against the backdrop of 1940s America, this witty and uplifting novel follows one woman’s journey to uncover long-buried family secrets, ultimately leading to a deeper understanding of identity, resilience, and the ties that bind us.
“The beauty of the Warriors Book Club is that it offers more than just a space to talk about books—it’s a chance to feel seen, supported, and inspired,” says Nina Foley, LCSW, Adelphi’s Volunteer and Hotline Supervisor. “It’s incredible to witness the connections that form when people come together to share their stories and find strength in one another.”
Whether you’re a book lover, a first-time reader, or simply looking to connect, we welcome you to pull up a chair, pour yourself something refreshing, and join us from wherever you are. Let’s kick off summer with a good book and great company.
