On Monday, October 28, Adelphi faculty and students participated in the formation of a human ribbon as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The photo was featured on Fox 5, FiOS1, and Life is Sweet TV.

Clifford (CJ) Russo ’16, a music major, is one of 25 Voice of McDonald’s Semi-Finalists. Russo was selected based on a video recording he made this summer followed by a live elimination round held recently in the Midwest. Helen C. Ballestas, assistant professor of nursing in the College of Nursing and Public Health, received the 2013 Nurse of the Year Award by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses® (NAHN). The annual award recognizes Hispanic nurses who have demonstrated commitment to the improvement of health care in the Hispanic community. Dr. Ballestas helped to develop the NAHN Long Island Chapter at Adelphi and has led the Adelphi University High School Nursing Summer Intensive program for the past three years.
