Adelphi University’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, to benefit the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, was featured on Garden City Patch and on the front page of NY Campus Compact. Brose a list of the breast cancer awareness events taking place this month at Adelphi.


An article featuring Talon Air, owned by Adelphi alum Adam Katz ,‘81 appeared in The Island Now for its partnership with the nonprofit Patient Airlift Services, which helps injured and ill people get to medical treatment centers. In September, Talon Air transported seven children with traumatic burn injuries to the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp in Connecticut.


Danny McCabe, Adelphi’s new Director of Athletics and Campus Recreations, was named a Ones to Watch in Education in Long Island Business News. McCabe’s previous appointments include executive associate athletic director at Hofstra University and associate director of athletics for external relations at Providence College.


Alum Brett Spielberg ’13 was mentioned in Newsday as one of the Long Island people on the move on October 4. Spielberg recently joined Zimmerman/Edelson in Great Neck as assistant copywriter.


An article in Garden City Life reported on the lecture, “The World Needs All Kinds of Minds,” given by Dr. Temple Grandin, world-renowned autism expert. The sold out event took place on September 25 in the University Center Ballroom and was streamed live in the Performing Arts Center.
